EMEA Summit

Over the weekend, Malta hosted the first ever Vistage EMEA Summit, that saw 50 CEOs and business owners from seven countries learning, connecting, and networking to increase cooperation between their businesses and their countries.

Speakers at this event included Neil Harris, Sustainability Strategy and Innovation lead at Amazon Web Services and his colleague David Cavenor, Senior Manager of the AWS Digital Innovation Team, who explained how Amazon teams work on innovation, sustainability, giving the participants insights into how they could run similar practices in their companies.

Mr Harris and Mr Cavenor spent the whole conference with the participants, sharing their ideas and insights over meals and breakout sessions.

Steve Stivala, Associate Director at KPMG Malta also took part and shared his insights into the economy, and the changes that we expect to see over the coming months. He also looked at how our behaviour as leaders shapes our decisions and influences the economy.

Vistage Malta’s Nathan Farrugia, together with the other Vistage country owners, presented various sessions on personal development, industry specifics and leadership trends, while participants discussed their organisational issues to help shed light on possible solutions.

One aspect which is considered as particular to the Vistage EMEA Summit is that participants had the opportunity to actually work on problem solving, and to reflect on their potential issues in close-knit groups throughout the weekend.

It wasn’t just work, however. Participants played golf at the Royal Malta Golf Club, visited Mdina, Valletta and Birgu by night, and enjoyed the grounds at the San Anton Gardens, as they stayed at the peaceful Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard.

The next VISTAGE EMEA summit will be moving to another country next year, yet to be announced.
