Aimee Vella Bonnici on Tuesday announced that she has been appointed Lead, Learning and Talent (L&T) Business Partner at KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions Malta.
Her new position comes after more than eight years at the company, having initially joined as a Senior Human Resources (HR) Executive in 2015. In the following years, she worked in various other roles, most recently as Learning Business Partner and ESG Lead, a position she held for over four years.
“With the beginning of a new financial year, comes the beginning of many new chapters; so happy to see many of my colleagues celebrating their success,” she said, referring to her colleagues receiving promotions and being entrusted with new roles.
Ms Vella Bonnici added that it is also time for her to “celebrate all the hard work” of the last couple of years.
“Rewind to when I left my path in recruitment, to start over in learning and development (L&D). I did not know it back then, but a new dream for me would begin, with all of its ups and downs, and moments when I thought this might not have been the right choice for me,” she continued.
Prior to her time at KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions, Ms Vella Bonnici had gained plenty of experience in the recruitment and talent acquisition space, with stints at Triple 3 Group, Pentasia and Castille Resources, among other companies.
Despite her uncertainty upon initially delving into the area, Ms Vella Bonnici, together with “so many amazing people” who she now considers close friends and mentors, “turned the lights on to this new landscape of opportunities” at the company.
She concluded by encouraging others to persist in new roles and remain determined, saying: “All I can say is do not worry if you are walking a path which seems less travelled or unknown, you will learn so much from the experience.”
In her LinkedIn bio, Ms Vella Bonnici describes herself as having a passion for “enabling people to grow and develop their skills”, and as an advocate for company cultures that “promote learning, development and engagement”. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) from University of Malta and an Associate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) in L&D, through Acacia Learning.
