Social Justice, Family, and Children’s Rights Minister Michael Falzon appointed Antoinette Vassallo as Malta’s new Children’s Commissioner.

Ms Vassallo succeeds Pauline Miceli, whose tenure as Children’s Commissioner came to a conclusion recently.

The newly-appointed Commissioner has held several managerial roles in the public sector throughout her career.

From 2013 to 2017, Ms Vassallo served as Director of the Malta Communications Authority. Throughout that same period, she also served as Chairperson of the Malta Housing Authority.

After said roles, she was appointed Board Director of Malta Industrial Parks, a role which she held up until October 2019.

Before her latest appointment, Ms Vassallo also served as Vice Chairperson on the Children and Young Persons Advisory Board (CYPAB). She was later appointed Chairperson of the same Board.

At present, Ms Vassallo is also a Board Member for the Committee for the Strengthening of the Family and for the St Vincent de Paule Facility Committee.
