Sharing a quote by American Business Executive Jack Welch, George Tabone, Head of Service Delivery at Konnekt, sums this up succinctly. The quote goes: “Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.”
Commenting on this insight on social media, Mr Tabone writes, “this is a challenging shift if you are used to only having to worry about yourself and your own day-to-day stuff. However, if you change your mindset to that of serving your team, you’ll find it a lot easier.”
Indeed, much has been said about the qualities of a great leader, but ultimately, steering the growth of the people you are responsible for may be seen to top that list.
