Ascertic Corporate Services Managing Director, Matthew Aquilina, has been appointed to sit on the Malta Institute of Accountants’ (MIA) Small and Medium Practices Group, while Daniel Bezzina, the company’s Finance Manager, has been made a member of its Young Members Focus Group.

The two men’s tenures in the respective groups lasts until 2023.

The MIA aims to lead, train, support, and promote its members whilst setting a professional and ethical standard for the benefit of the accountancy profession and the general public.

In total, the institute has 13 different committees and groups. The Small and Medium Practices Group is made up of 19 members and headed by Chairperson Jean Paul Debono and Deputy Chairperson Mark Wirth.

The Young Members Focus Group, on the other hand, is made up of 23 members and headed by Chairperson Dean Micallef and Deputy Chairperson Julia Gingell.

Mr Aquilina has been Managing Director at Ascertic since 2020. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, and has held a number of other roles in the finance sector.

Mr Bezzina also joined Ascertic in 2020. He was previously a Senior Accountant at Credence, and has also worked at KPMG in both Malta and the UK.
