Dean Micallef, Managing Director at professional services provider Firstbridge, announced that start-up incubator Basement2Boardroom has launched its very own workspace.

Basement2Boardroom was launched by Firstrbridge in 2021 in a bid to help local start-ups scale in a professional environment. As its name suggests, it seeks to support three to five start-ups every six months on their journeys from ‘basement’ to ‘boardroom’.

“Start-up support has been a huge part of our mission and journey for the past seven years or so, this week marks that next huge step in doing more to help evolve and grow the local ecosystem,” Mr Micallef wrote.

“Following previous start-up initiatives organised by our wonderful team, we are now launching out very own incubator and start-up workspace,” he continued.

Basement2Boardroom collaborates with a series of C-level Executives to serve as mentors for the start-ups in residence. Amongst others, the mentors include Mr Micallef himself, Bajada Group Chairman Mark Bajada, and St James Hospital Group Director and CEO Maria Bugeja.

“Basement2Boardroom has an official home, designed with start-ups in mind, catering for the specific needs and requirements of what it takes to become a successful start-up, with a local context,” Mr Micallef added.

“Proud moment indeed, cannot wait to continue working with our leading start-ups and super excited to welcome new ones into the mix,” he concluded.

Basement2Boardroom’s collaborators include Stretta Beer, FreeHour, Go Electric, and Renovation Depot.

Mr Micallef has been serving as Managing Director at Firstbridge since 2014. He also holds the role of Chief Financial Officer at Attard & Co. Group.
