Dhayalaruban Thangaraja on Thursday announced that he has been appointed Director of Internal Audit at BDO Malta.

Mr Thangaraja joins following almost five years at KPMG Malta, where he served in a number of risk consulting advisory roles, including most recently as Associate Director of Risk Consulting Advisory Services for more than a year.

Additionally, he also has experience working at KPMG’s operations in the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Mr Thangaraja also had stints as Deputy Head of Finance at Aitken Spence Hotels, and Project Manager of Internal Audit Services at PwC Sri Lanka.

He is an experienced internal audit and risk management professional, having worked in a number of multicultural environments.

Mr Thangaraja is a Certified Internal Auditor, and also holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business and Finance from University of the West of Scotland, as well as a certification on sustainability from University of Oxford.

He describes himself as an “analytical thinker and deadline-oriented professional” who is capable of adapting to the evolving regulatory and technological environments.

BDO Malta forms part of the global BDO network, providing corporate and business advisory services. It has over 45 years of practice in Malta, and has continued to grow over the years.
