Malta-based Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) has completed its acquisition of Gameday Group and Together Gaming’s B2C business, operating under the ‘Bethard’ brand.

Together Gaming, a subsidiary of Gameday Group plc, made the announcement yesterday, 15th July.

“This is another great addition for Esports Entertainment Group that substantially increases our revenue and available markets,” EEG CEO Grant Johnson said in a statement.

The transaction includes a €16 million cash payment and a 12 per cent net gaming revenue share for two years. As a result, Esports Entertainment Group has raised its fiscal 2022 revenue guidance to $100 million – $105 million.

“We will gain two new gaming licenses from this transaction, including one in the strategically important Swedish market. With these additions, we’ll have a total of six tier-one licenses globally,” Mr Johnson continued.

Founded in 2012 and based in St Julian’s, Bethard is an iGaming company that offers sports betting and casino games online.

Gameday Group went forward with the transaction after making a strategic decision to focus on its B2B business, the company said. The group intends to retain its B2C licenses solely for the purposes of supporting Together Gaming’s B2B business and white label clients.
