Brandon Gatt on Friday announced that he has been promoted to Partner at accounting and advisory firm Zampa Debattista. His appointment came into effect at the start of the year.

His new role comes after working at the Malta-based firm for more than 10 years, particularly focusing on VAT and accounting assignments both within and outside of Malta.

Mr Gatt has been specialising in VAT since 2016 and is also the VAT Leader at Zampa Debattista.

Throughout the course of his relatively short career, he has gained a wide array of experience when it comes to handling a growing portfolio of clients, operating within various sectors of the economy.

In addition to the aforementioned roles, he is also a Lecturer for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) courses at Zampa Debattista Academy (ZD Academy). He also lectures on VAT at the Malta Institute of Taxation and the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA). Mr Gatt is a member of the Indirect Taxation Committee at the MIA.

Mr Gatt is only the second Maltese professional to successfully complete the EU VAT Expert degree, a degree administered and awarded by the VAT Forum, an international partnership of indirect tax specialists, founded in 1999.

His industry experience includes the areas of gambling and betting, financial services, aviation and yachting, and chain transactions.

Founded in 2014 by Matthew Zampa and John Debattista, Zampa Debattista has since grown to become a business advisory that covers areas such as direct taxation, financial advisory, and assurance. It launched ZD Academy in 2019, aimed at offering highly technical courses for accountants and auditors.
