Citadel Insurance launched its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy for 2021/22 by raising funds to support environmental NGO Nature Trust Malta’s turtle conservation efforts.
The company’s CSR strategy for this coming year is focused on promoting cleaner and safer seas.
“Nature Trust Malta has worked tirelessly over decades to raise environmental awareness while at the same time making many practical initiatives to protect and enhance Malta’s unique landscape and ecosystems,” Citadel Insurance Managing Director Angela Tabone said.
“At Citadel we are committed to create a culture that is supportive towards our community and environment. We recognise that the seas are important and we need to promote greater awareness to keep them sustainable and safe for the marine world,” Ms Tabone continued.
The company chose to focus its CSR strategy on the marine environment after it noted that Malta’s seas are becoming increasingly populated with vessels which, in turn, produce pollution.
“We are pleased that our employees understand the importance of protecting our surrounding waters and are keen to promote our initiatives towards creating better awareness to protect sea life with special focus on vulnerable turtles,” the Managing Director concluded.
Nature Trust Malta’s Executive President, Vincent Attard, thanked Citadel Insurance and its employees for the donation which will “help [the organisation] continue [its] preservation efforts.”
