Franklin Azzopardi, Cluster Director of Corporate Sales at InterContinental Malta and Holiday Inn Express Malta, subsidiaries of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), announced that he will be leaving the company after “almost five years.”

Mr Azzopardi joined IHG in 2017 as a Key Account Director. Six months after joining the Group, he was made Key Account Director for Holiday Inn Express Malta as well. In December 2019, Mr Azzopardi was promoted to Cluster Director of Corporate Sales for both hotels.

“I would like to thank all my colleagues within the IHG family for all their support throughout the past months. It has been a great experience,” Mr Azzopardi wrote on social media.

“It’s been a pleasure to work with InterContinental Malta and Holiday Inn Express Malta with great people. I cannot not mention my first General Manager and Director of Sales at InterContinental Malta and thank them for this lovely opportunity they gave me – Mr Martin Van Kan and Mr Jesmon Debono,” he continued.

The outgoing Cluster Director announced that he will now be joining Cavalieri Art Hotel as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Mr Azzopardi has a wealth of experience in the local hospitality field, having worked for AX Hotels, Hilton Malta, and Golden Tulip Hotels.
