BMIT Technologies has announced a series of changes to its Board of Directors and Audit Committee. Such changes are being made with immediate effect.

Nikhil Patil and Reuben Attard, both of whom held senior management positions with the Company’s majority shareholder, have resigned from their positions as Directors of the Company and, accordingly, from their positions as Chairperson of the Board and as Member of the Audit Committee, respectively.

Faker Hnid has also tendered his resignation as a Member of BMIT Technologies’ Audit Committee.

The Board thanked Mr Patil and Mr Attard for their loyal service to the Company and wished them success for the future.

Daniela Zammit and Michael Mercieca have been appointed as Independent Non-Executive Directors of the Company, succeeding Mr Patil and Mr Attard. They have also been appointed Members of the Audit Committee, replacing Mr Attard and Mr Hnid.

Ms Zammit is a Certified Public Accountant and a Fellow Member of the Malta Institute of Accountants. She currently serves as CFO at Malta Properties Company plc.

Mr Mercieca is a Malta-warranted Certified Public Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and the Malta Institute of Accountants. He held the position of Senior Manager at Deloitte Malta, having joined the firm’s audit practice 14 years earlier.

Furthermore, Christian Sammut, who is currently CEO of BMIT Technologies, has also been appointed by the Board as an Executive Director.

Ing Sammut has been leading the company for over 10 years and is responsible for the company’s listing on the Malta Stock Exchange in 2019, as well as for various other investments and acquisitions.

Throughout his career, Ing Sammut has worked in the private and public sectors, both locally as well as overseas, and has held a variety of senior roles.

BMIT has also confirmed that a new Chairperson of the board will be appointed in due course.
