Diane Abela, Director of Information Security at Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), will be parting ways with the company after four years of employment.

Ms Abela joined GiG in March 2018 as Information Security Officer. The following August, she was made Head of Information Security – a position which she held up until her promotion to Director in March 2020.

“At Gaming Innovation Group, I had the pleasure of meeting and collaborating with some amazing people, experts in their field, and also built some beautiful friendships,” Ms Abela wrote on social media.

“I had the opportunity to work with a strong information security team, a team that pushed me beyond my limits and enabled me to grow as a professional and as a leader every day,” she continued.

Ms Abela went on to reveal that she will now be taking on the role of Chief Information Security Officer at a London-based company.

“I will be working in a new industry, an industry that has been close to my heart since I first wrote my undergraduate dissertation on health back in 2013,” she wrote.

“I look forward to making an impact, meeting new people, and continuing my journey of professional growth in a country full of new opportunities,” Ms Abela concluded.

Prior to joining GiG in 2018, the outgoing Director of Information Security served as Group Information Security Officer at Hili Ventures Limited.

She also held the role of Senior Associate at PwC Malta from 2013 to 2015.
