IT expert Donald Tabone has joined Betsson group as Chief Information Secuirty Officer (CISO) following a four-year stint at LeoVegas Group.
Mr Tabone took to social media to bid his former colleagues farewell.
“Four years ago, I joined LeoVegas and was part of an amazing evolution journey working alongside a great team and some amazing colleagues who I will dearly miss. LeoVegas remains a great place to work at with lots of exciting challenges coming up this year,” he wrote.
“Today also marks the day I start a new challenge at Betsson group in a position I am very excited to be in. I am super eager to put my experience to work and lead the Information Security efforts across Betsson,” he continued.
Mr Tabone had joined LeoVegas Group as Information Security Manager back in 2017. Over the years, he was promoted to Group Information Security Manager and Group Head of Information Security.
The newly appointed CISO has also been serving as a Technical Court Expert at Malta’s Law Courts since 2016.
Prior to joining the iGaming industry, Mr Tabone served as a Lecturer at Middlesex University, Group CTO at MiFinity, and Group CTO at Allied Newspapers Limited, amongst others.
Founded in 1963, Betsson Group presently employs around 1,900 people across 13 different locations. The group is one of the largest of its kind within the European iGaming industry and offers over 20 brands in the casino, sportsbook, and gaming spheres.
This event brought together leading international speakers, innovators, and BOV’s in-house experts.
He has served as Director of the bank’s Belgian subsidiary, MeDirect Bank S.A., since January 2021.
