Life’s fast pace has us all longing for, or needing, more hours in the day. And in a post-COVID working world characterised by new environments and processes – hello, remote working – change has only seemed to accelerate the passage of time, and the need to ‘do more’ with our time.
Rachel Cachia, CEO and Co-founder of VSQUARED, highlights the downside of this, saying “there’s too much emphasis these days on productivity, on hyperefficiency, on squeezing the most production out of every last minute.”
The repercussion, she says, is that “people have forgotten how to relax. How to be lazy. How to enjoy life. Even though I’m guilty of this most of the time, I feel I have improved a lot.”
The CEO adds that her weekend is “me time, family time and friends time. I learned that performance is not measured by the work you do only, but for the time you dedicate to others and to just be.”
