EY Malta has announced that John Winfield, founder and director of Dr Juice, has won the EY Rising Star Award for 2021.
Forming part of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year program, which “recognises unstoppable entrepreneurial achievements among individuals and companies that demonstrate vision, leadership and success,” EY’s Rising Star is “is a unique award recognising an up-and-coming entrepreneur whose business is still relatively new but is already showing great potential.”
This year, EY Malta named Nazzareno Vassallo, Chairman of Vassallo Group Malta, EY Entrepreneur of the Year, with John Winfield being awarded Rising Star.
Sharing the news on a social media post, Dr Juice writes, “John started this amazing journey 12 years ago and has developed Dr Juice into an iconic, well loved brand. He has been a pioneer in bringing healthy solutions to Malta and has developed the market through his excellent foresight, passion and dedication.”
Speaking of the entrepreneur’s resilience in trying times, the post continues, “faced with several challenges along the way, in particular over the last year, John chose to see each challenge as an opportunity for growth and innovation, thus strengthening the brand further,” going on to congratulate Mr Winfield of the recognition.
He takes over from Alejandro Gosttuski, who will now take on the role of an Advisor.
The company, set to launch soon, will seek to provide clients with ‘customer-centric and innovative’ financial services.
The Malta Stock Exchange recently joined other exchanges for the inaugural Ring the Bell for Climate initiative.
