On Monday (today), marketer Edward Mallia announced his appointment as Chief Marketing Officer at EC English Language Centres.

EC English Language Centres is a globally recognised English Language school that has a presence in the United States, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Malta and South Africa. It offers schools by age and has different courses for different purposes. This includes general English courses, English for business and Erasmus+.

Mr Mallia is a seasoned manager, digital executive and strategist with more than 20 years of experience in digital and traditional advertising.

Mr Mallia started his career as a Graphic Artist, before he then became Product Manager and Research Development Manager at Yellow.

In 2017 he was appointed Chief Marketing Officer within the same company, through which he developed and managed Yellow’s marketing plans, strategy, budgets, digital and traditional promotion, merchandising, community, and public relations activities.

Later, he moved to Calamatta Cuschieri, holding the same role of Chief Marketing Officer. During this time, from 2019 to 2022, he reported directly to the CEO and was accountable for all marketing strategies and programmes, partnership development, and customer service and retention.

Additionally, he conducted in-depth market research on customer touch-points and competitors, devised advertising and interactive programmes and maintained important industry relations.

He was most recently Head of Product (Digital Marketing) at ICE Malta, while simultaneously being a Lecturer of the Diploma in Digital Marketing, a role he still holds. He is also a Lead Trainer at Meta, the company behind social media platform Facebook.
