Emma Hogg

If there is one theme that has continued to emerge as this platform keeps in touch with the concerns and aspirations of Malta’s C-level executives, is that leaders are generally struggling to get back on their feet, post-pandemic. This is both in the context of business, but also on a more personal level. This is where Emma Hogg, and her mission “to create lives that are purposeful, exciting and fulfilling” comes in.

As the founder of self-development agency A Life I Choose, Ms Hogg, a psychotherapist and lifestyle strategist, encounters her fair share of individuals who want more out of their careers, but that doesn’t mean she’s not also fighting her own battles. “Growing online and accessing the right audiences” is one of the main challenges Ms Hogg is facing right now. “It is happening,” she told MaltaCEOS.mt “but not at the pace I had imagined, and while this can be frustrating, I’m learning a lot by having to pivot and figure out different strategies.”

Looking ahead and keeping a positive mindset is what keeps her going, apart from the fact that she always tries to “learn about the illusion of control and trusting life’s journey.”

Ms Hogg’s work puts her in a position where she can experience the damage that stress has on people first hand. “The rate of depression has tripled since 2020,” she told us whilst admitting that this is extremely concerning for her “because she literally feels pain when she sees people suffer.” It is for this reason that she has made it her mission “to instil positive self-belief and meaning in more people with less time.”

Looking towards the future Ms Hogg feels that whilst 2022 has been “fast, challenging yet fulfilling”, in 2023 she plans “to give people the space to heal, grow and create in alignment with who they truly are.”

“When more people are taking care of themselves and are actively creating lives that they find fulfilling, we’ll experience a ripple effect of more peace, higher cognitive functioning, better solutions and more positive action and results,” Ms Hogg concluded.
