Hustle culture continues to get a bad reputation as the focus on maintaining a positive work-life balance has remained at the forefront, even post-COVID. Within this discussion, employee wellbeing is more important than ever – especially when considering that more and more workers are looking beyond salaries and wages when choosing who to remain loyal to.
In today’s world, employee wellbeing has expanded beyond physical assurances such as health and safety to also include an emphasis on emotional, financial, social, career, community, and purpose.
Expedition42 Client Account Manager George Tabone on Wednesday shared that any organisations that “strive to be the best” should give the topic of employee wellbeing “its due relevance”.
“We understand that organisation thrive when their employees are healthy, motivated, and engaged,” he said.
Therefore, investment in employee wellbeing “not only enhances productivity, but also fosters a positive work culture where individuals feel valued and supported”.
Mr Tabone explained that employee welfare is not something that is ensured in the space of a few days, but it is an “ongoing journey that requires continuous attention”.
“By implementing strategies that put the wellbeing of your employees at the forefront, you’re creating a workplace where individuals feel valued, supported, and motivated to contribute their best,” he concluded.
It is important to note that wellbeing is also an issue for business leaders themselves, not only employees, with studies finding that one in every three C-suite executives constantly struggles with fatigue and poor mental health. The hectic nature of today’s business world takes a toll on all levels of a company, and wellbeing cannot be ignored.
Mr Tabone is an experienced recruitment manager who describes himself as having a “keen interest in business development and client relations”. He has worked as Client Account Manager at Expedition42 for over a year and a half, and prior to that served in various recruitment-related roles at Konnekt. He holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and Training from University of Leicester.
