Tamas Banyai

Tamás Bányai, CEO at local telecommunications company Epic mt, has revealed a set of refunds and subsidies for customers roaming in Ukraine or reaching out to Ukraine-based individuals.

This announcement follows Russia’s recent, devastating attack on Ukraine, which has left hundreds dead and thousands more injured.

“To help our customers stay in touch with their loved ones in the region, last Friday we reached out to our customers roaming in Ukraine to let them know that we will be refunding pay-monthly customers for roaming calls, SMS, and data,” Mr Bányai wrote on social media.

The company also added free credit to Epic prepaid subscribers in the aforementioned region.

“As for Epic subscribers in Malta reaching out to those in Ukraine, we will be refunding any calls and SMSs made towards Ukraine from 25th February,” the CEO continued.

Previously known as Vodafone Malta, the company was rebranded to Epic Communications Limited in November 2020.

Since then, Epic successfully launched its 5G network locally whilst growing its customer base to 250,000 subscribers.

Mr Bányai has been serving as company CEO since April 2020, seven months before its rebrand.
