Roderick Abela and Mario Abela / Nectar

Nectar Ltd CEO Roderick Abela and COO Mario Abela are celebrating 25 years at the importation and distribution company.

In a post shared by Head of HR Mark Bugeja on Sunday, he thanked the two brothers for their “exemplary” leadership, “admirable” integrity, and “tireless” dedication, things he said the company’s employees are grateful for.

“25 years dedicated to sustaining a family business which has been going from strength to strength throughout the years no matter what life has thrown at you even during the darkest hours, in particular 2010 when we all lost our Founder Charles Abela; your father,” he said.

He added that working with the pair has been “inspiring and motivational to say the least”.

“That’s because great leaders help others to discover their abilities and capabilities to achieve goals way beyond their expectations. You are both that type of leader,” Mr Bugeja explained.

He said that the brothers’ “quality work” is an inspiration, before adding that their commitment to “persist with excellence in distribution” has rubbed off on the workforce.

“Your impactful and selfless way of leading has helped many of us to become a better version of ourselves and for this we say thank you,” Mr Bugeja concluded.

Mr Abela founded Nectar Ltd in 1991 together with his partners, and by 1997, the late Founder had taken full ownership of the company. Today, Mr Abela’s values are still alive through his children Roderick, Mario, Daniel Bugeja and Carlos Abela.
