EY Carmine Di Sibio

As India grapples with spiralling COVID-19 cases and deaths, organisations around the world are showing their support and commitment to help hospitals and NGOs on the ground, including global professional services network, EY.

The organisation’s Global Chairman and CEO, Carmine Di Sibio, shared his sentiments on social media, saying “India is experiencing a severe second wave of the virus, and a significant number of EY people and their family members have been directly impacted. Our leadership teams are monitoring the situation and have established resources and policies to support EY people.”

Mr Di Sibio said the company is “committed to addressing the humanitarian crisis using the power of our organisation”, and is working with the Business Roundtable association, clients and competitors to provide donations to India.

These include 1,000 oxygen canisters, as part of an effort to donate at least 25,000 canisters through the US-India Friendship Alliance.

“We are also working through other meaningful, high-impact charitable actions. The EY Foundation in India is engaged with several NGOs to facilitate medical supplies and cooked meals for patients in hospitals and COVID-19 care centres.”

The Group CEO concluded that the compassion and resilience of EY people “continues to inspire me and our entire leadership team. The whole EY family is united in supporting colleagues in India and throughout the world suffering in this pandemic.”
