On Wednesday, FIMBank announced the appointment of Teuta Bakalli as an independent Non-Executive Director of the bank.

The announcement, made through the Malta Stock Exchange,states that Ms Bakalli’s appointment is still subject to regulatory approval.

She has over 20 years of experience in regulated financial markets including fintech, cleantech, asset management, insutance and investment banking.

She has also garnered experience in leadership positions through her tenures as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the eCommerce division of WorldPay Inc., and the European CFO of Pepper Europe.

Additionally she also held roles at Schorders, Credit Suisse First Boston and Barclays Capital before she joined Willis and Vangugard Europe as a Financial Director.

Ms Bakalli has resided in Malta since 2016 where she founded Cleantech360, a company which offers ESG strategy and business consulting to the cleantech industry. As part of her involvement in this sector, she has worked with numerous renewables and sustainability projects, including those which leverage blockchain technology.

At the moment, she sits on several boards and is an ongoing contributor to the global accounting body ACCA and is a member of the Global Sustainability. She was admitted as a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant in 2005.

Apart from her directorship at Cleantech360 Limited and in Gablraith’s Overseas Holdings Limited, she does not hold or hasn’t held directorship in any other local issuer for the past five years.
