Franco Borg has resigned from his position as Chief Officer of Internal Audit at MAPFRE Middlesea following a seven-month tenure.
Mr Borg tendered his resignation ‘for personal reasons’.
In the meantime, MAPFRE Middlesea has commenced an intensive recruitment process in order to identify a suitable replacement within the shortest time possible, as subject to regulatory approval.
Mr Borg had joined the company in October 2021, replacing former Chief Officer of Internal Audit Sharon Cilia Tortell who had also resigned for personal reasons.
The outgoing MAPFRE Middlesea employee is a Certified Public Accountant and Internal Auditor and has held senior positions in both highly regarded private organisations and authorities.
Mr Borg is an Associate Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a Fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants. MAPFRE Middlesea is a leading local insurance company and a member of the MAPFRE Group. It is also listed on the Malta Stock Exchange.
