JYSK Malta Managing Director (MD) Marcus Bonnici last week commended the work that Frame Football Malta (FFM) is doing to help young athletes, with the furniture retailer donating a van to the non-governmental organisation (NGO).

FFM was introduced in Malta in 2016, offering a unique version of football for anyone who has physical impairments and would benefit from using a walker-style frame to either walk or exercise. The sport was first piloted in England in 2014, and has since spread to a number of countries across the world.

The van that Mr Bonnici donated on behalf of JYSK Malta will allow the organisation to more easily transport the equipment needed for these young athletes to have better mobility to play football as a hobby.

“Free mobility is a fundamental right everyone must have in their day-to-day life”, he explained, before adding that “this beautiful group of young people deserve the help and assistance of everyone to make their dreams come true”.

“For us at JYSK Malta, it is important to contribute to help facilitate the development of their hobby,” he pointed out.

Mr Bonnici acknowledged that the vehicle will assist in the transport of their mobilisation equipment and will be “further contributing to the development of both the sport they love to practice as well as in the development of their lives”.

He concluded by saying: “These youngsters are an example for all of us and deserve our support.”

JYSK is a global retail chain that originated in Denmark in 1979. It sells a number of household goods and has over 2,586 stores across 50 countries. It opened its first store in Malta in 2016 in Lija, and is operating as a franchise.
