Malta Freeport CEO Alex Montebello has congratulated 12 employees who reached the milestone of working for 25 years with the company.

At a specially held event to commemorate the occasion, Mr Montebello paid tribute on behalf of the company, which was privatised in 2004, to the “valuable input of these staff members, who have witnessed the transformation of the Freeport”.

Indeed, he pointed towards a €320 million strategic investment programme which allowed the company to modernise its infrastructure and machinery.

The employees who reached this significant milestone are: Svetlana Gauci and Joanne Vella, CEO & Directors Department; Adrian Cachia, Finance Department; Victor Busuttil, Edwin Farrugia, Richard Farrugia, Paul Grima, Mauro Pace, Wilfred Sciberras and Jesmond Stivala, Operations Department; Darren Attard, Human Resources Department, and Godfrey Vella, Engineering Department.

Mr Montebello has himself worked at the Freeport for more than 17 years. Before becoming CEO, he worked in a number of other roles, including as an IT Manager, Business Development Manager and Director of Sales.
