Terence Cassar and Cherise Abela Grech

Law firm GTG Advocates on Friday announced the appointment Cherise Abela Grech and Terence Cassar as Partners.

Dr Abela Grech has joined as Partner responsible for the firm’s corporate, financial services and competition law practices. She graduated with a Doctor of Laws from University in Malta in 2013, and subsequently read for a master’s degree in Financial Services from the same university. She was admitted to the Maltese Bar in 2014.

Dr Cassar has been named Partner responsible for the intellectual property, data protection and privacy, media and telecommunications practices within the firm. He was admitted to the Maltese Bar in 2016 and holds a Doctor of Laws from University of Malta, as well as an LLM in Internet Law & Policy from University of Strathclyde.

Commenting on the news, Managing Partner Ian Gauci said that he is “very proud” to welcome Dr Abela Grech and Dr Cassar to the partnership.

“They bring diverse skill sets and their appointment is a key investment in our future. It continues to show our differentiation in the market and adds great value to the services we provide to new and existing clients,” Dr Gauci explained.

“I also believe that these appointments will continue to contribute to the firm’s success and experience,” he added.

GTG was founded in 1997, and since then it has been “at the forefront” of Malta’s legal profession, “blending together established private practices into a centre of expertise and excellence”. The appointments come at a time when GTG only recently rebranded with a new logo and image, revamped its office, and also launched its new website.
