“My short stint at BOV comes to an end today. It’s been an opportunity to meet and work with a number of dedicated and committed colleagues across a variety of business lines. Taking stock of the next move,” he wrote.

Mr Tortell joined BOV last February after spending over 15 years at HSBC Malta.

His first experience with the latter bank dates back to 2006, when he was appointed Head of Marketing. He held said role for just under six years before being appointed Head of Premier, Advance, and Retail Banking.

Over the following nine years, Mr Tortell changed his role twice, eventually taking on the roles of Senior Head of Customer Experience and Head of Contact Centre.

Earlier on in his career, Mr Tortell served as General Manager for Marketing and PR at Air Malta, Communications Coordinator for the Prime Minister of Malta and Deputy to the Chief of Staff at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Head of Marketing, Sales, and Operations at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.
