Hein Chetcuti recently announced that he has been promoted to Chief Transformation Officer at Malta Freeport Terminals.

Mr Chetcuti first joined the organisation in 2007 as Information Systems Specialist, and over the years he has occupied a number of positions, gradually working his way up the corporate ladder. These include Operational Business Strategist and Corporate Services Manager.

Prior to his latest role, he was Operations Development Manager, a position he held for close to seven years.

Mr Chetcuti’s past experience also includes eight years as Information Systems Lecturer at Saint Martin’s Institute of Higher Education.

His information systems expertise ranges from electronic data interchange (EDI) to development and management of business intelligence, information systems project management and organisation restructuring. He is also experienced in areas such as business process reengineering and process streamlining.

Mr Chetcuti holds a Master of Science in International Business from Royal Holloway University of London and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information Systems and Management from The London School of Economics and Political Science.

Over the years, Malta Freeport Terminals has established itself as a strategic transhipment port, located at the crossroads of many notable maritime routes. It was privatised in 2004, and has since seen heavy investment to upgrade its facilities and equipment.
