In today’s tight labour market, companies are constantly faced with the difficult task of having to pick out the best candidates from a fairly limited number of options.
This might lead to employers having to settle for candidates that might not fully satisfy their requirements, which could result in problems in the future in terms of productivity.
With this in mind, Trust Payments Gaming Account Manager Genieve Grech on Thursday pinpointed 10 qualities that business leaders have to keep in mind when choosing candidates for a particular role in order to “exceed all key performance indicators (KPIs) and expectations”.
She noted that candidates should have a “positive attitude” and be able to “adapt” in fast-paced situations.
It is also integral that potential employees can thinking strategically, be “easy to work with”, and is also a team player that “supports others”.
Ms Grech also stated that the people one should be hiring need to possess “transferable skills” that allow them to be more versatile, while also being organised when it comes to the “execution of tasks”.
She emphasised that candidates also have to be passionate, as well as showcase “excellent communication skills”.
When it comes to client-facing roles, Ms Grech remarked that candidates need to have the right customer service skills, knowing how to deal with customers in the best means possible.
“Sometimes, we hire people that have done the role before thinking it will automatically make them a good fit. The right candidate will be trained and up and running in two months. That’s all it takes,” she explained.
“That also the amount of time it would take any candidate to get used to your back offices and processes,” Ms Grech concluded.
Prior to her role at Trust Payments, Ms Grech served at a number of iGaming companies, including STS Gaming Group, Cashmio Online Casino and Tumas Gaming. She describes herself as having a “good eye for detail” and as a “problem solver”, and is particularly skilled in customer satisfaction.
