Anabel Mifsud, a stalwart of the local finance industry, has joined FinanceMalta’s Board of Governors.
Set up in 2007, the entity is a public-private initiative set up to promote Malta as an international and financial centre within, as well as outside of the country.
FinanceMalta is spearheaded by Chief Operations Officer Ivan Grech and Chairman George Vella, who also sits on the Board of Governors. Ms Mifsud’s addition to said board means that it is now composed of 10 individuals.
Other notable FinanceMalta Governors include BOV Chief Retail Banking Officer Kenneth Farrugia, Calamatta Cuschieri Co-CEO Alan Cuschieri, and Malta Bankers’ Association Secretary General Karol Gabarretta.
Ms Mifsud joined FinanceMalta in June, although she only revealed her instatement earlier today.
The newly appointed Governor has been employed at Fexserv Fund Services since 2008 and nowadays serves as the company’s Managing Director.
She started her career in audit and assurance with PwC, where she was involved within different industries and worked in offices across Malta and London. After that, Ms Mifsud took up accountancy and finance positions with leading entities operating out of Malta, including an appointment within the Finance Department of HSBC Securities Services (Malta) Limited.
The Governor holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and Honours degree in Accountancy, and a Masters degree in Financial Services from the University of Malta.
She also sits on the committee at the Malta Asset Servicing Association (MASA) and is a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta.
She was previously Head of Marketing and Public Relations at the Malta-headquartered law firm.
