It’s been a difficult period for the entertainment and hospitality sectors, with COVID-19 having had a devastating impact on events, travel and tourist arrivals to the country over recent months.

Now, as the situation with the pandemic on the island stabilizes and restrictions continuing to lift, the sector is once again emerging from the COVID gloom and experiencing a well-needed restart.

During the worst of the pandemic, those working in badly affected industries often had one thing fueling them – passion. And now that there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, their efforts are being recognized.

Sharing an uplifting message on social media detailing the importance of recognition and appreciation of one’s work, Marika Caruana Smith, Director of Luxury Sales at InterContinental Malta writes “when you are passionate about your job, when you love what you do on a daily basis, when you treasure loyalty and strengthen relationships with your clients years after years, then you are in the right job!”

“And that,” she continues, “is hospitality!” sharing a message of goodwill alongside a bouquet of flowers and thank you note. “And it feels great when you get appreciated!”
