Life in business comes with its fair amount of challenges and difficulties, ranging from focusing on being productive to maintaining a work-life balance, among various other tasks.

This is also the case for business leaders, who must overcome such hurdles while also dealing with the headaches and pressures of leading an organisation, including ensuring employees are happy and motivated.

Such a workload together with a hectic life can prompt them to get demotivated and stressed both at and away from the workplace.

Konnekt Recruitment Specialist Steve Zammit explored these difficulties on Monday, highlighting the struggle of remaining motivated on a regular basis.

He explained that motivation “is not constant”, and that is ultimately “okay”.

“It’s normal to have ups and downs,” he said, before adding that the “key is to find ways to reignite your motivation when it wanes and keep pushing forward toward your goals”.

One tip that he suggested every person in the business space should do is to surround themselves with positivity.

“Surround yourself with people who support and encourage your aspirations,” Mr Zammit said.

On the other hand, negative influences that could serve as sources of demotivation have to be avoided.

Remaining motivated can be tough as is for a team member, yet for business leaders, it is imperative for the team’s overall success. A business leader that is motivated and confident can echo that same behaviour across the workplace, leading to the successful fulfilment of more company goals.

Mr Zammit is an IT Recruitment Specialist who has worked at Konnekt for the past two years, tasked with sourcing and identifying candidates through various channels and conducting candidate assessments, among other responsibilities. His prior experience also includes recruitment-related roles at STMicroelectronics, Betting Connections and Castille.
