Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malta elected its board for 2022 during its Annual General Meeting (AGM), held last Saturday.

The AGM also saw President-elect Giselle Borg Olivier deliver her plans for JCI Malta for the upcoming year, in accordance with the organisation’s new theme – ‘Reconnecting Leaders’.

“The world is still recoiling from COVID-19, one of the most impactful experiences worldwide since World War II, and the pandemic isn’t over yet,” Ms Borg Olivier said.

“The theme is based on the need for past and present leaders to come together and find common ground to rebuild communities and relationships. This is necessary on an international and national level, but also on an organisational level,” she continued.

Ms Borg Olivier succeeds Nicole Borg as the organisation’s National President. Ms Borg now takes on the role of Immediate Past President, serving as an Advisor to the board throughout 2022.

“The year 2021, just like 2020, has not been an easy one to manoeuvre. With the pandemic still very much a reality, the team came together to ensure that all members are kept engaged and excited to be part of such a wonderful organization,” Ms Borg said.

“If there’s one change I’m truly proud of, it’s seeing our members believing in themselves more and more and stepping up to lead their own projects,” she continued.

JCI Malta’s board for 2022 also includes Mel McElhatton as Deputy National President and VP International, Matthew Caruana as JCI La Valette Local President, Alex Palos as JCI Wignacourt Local President, and Johann Agius as JCI de Rohan Local President.

Other notable appointments within the organisation include Fran Stivala as Director of Marketing, Steph Dalli as Director of Training, Florence Vermeiren as Vice President of Members, Melanie McElhatton as Secretary General, and Giovanni Chieppe as Treasurer.
