Public-private partnership Yachting Malta Ltd announced that John Huber will be leaving the company after four-and-a-half years as Chairman.
Yachting Malta revealed the news on social media.
Launched in 2015, the company is a partnership between the Royal Malta Yacht Club and the Government of Malta looking to identify and attract high profile yachting events to the Maltese islands.
Amongst other things, Yachting Malta also aims to enhance the quality and growth of already established events.
“Steering Yachting Malta for the past four-and-a-half years has been a fulfilling experience, wherein we took a pro-active approach towards bringing the yachting industry to the forefront, locally and internationally,” Mr Huber said.
“I am proud to see the variety of incentives that Yachting Malta has launched in the past years, including initiatives relating to the growth of international yachting events in Malta, the development of the superyacht network, the sustainability programmes, as well as sailing for persons with disability, to mention a few,” the outgoing Chairman continued.
Since 2009, Mr Huber has been at the helm of his very own residence, tax, and advisory firm – John Huber & Associates – wherein he serves as Director and Managing Consultant.
He has also been serving as Chairman of The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation since October 2021.
“I leave Yachting Malta in very good hands and am confident that the team will continue to strive to keep Malta on the yachting map,” Mr Huber concluded.
The company’s Board of Directors and Staff thanked the outgoing Chairman for his contribution and wished him the very best for the future.
