Joseph Caruana has been appointed Non-Executive Director at Dino Fino Finance plc, taking over from Alexia Farrugia, the company announced on Monday.
This comes after Ms Farrugia resigned from the Board of Directors of the company and as a member of the Audit Committee with effect from the same day as the appointment.
She had joined the company’s Board of Directors when it was first incorporated back in 2021. Dino Fino Finance proceeded to thank her for her service.
Mr Caruana, who has replaced her in both roles, has over 40 years of experience. He is an engineer by profession and has held various positions in a number of companies worldwide, including Sulzer Escher Wyss A.G. and Air Malta.
His experience also includes stints as Operations Director and Deputy CEO at Toly Products and awas also General Manager at FXB Furniture Ltd, Marsovin Ltd, H.H. Ltd, and MGC Electronics Ltd.
In 2005, he set up Inspectra Limited, providing custom quality control inspections and sorting as well as calibration services to the Maltese industry. Mr Caruana also served as CEO at Mater Dei Hospital from 2011 up until 2014.
Mr Caruana is presently Non-Executive Director at PB Holdings Ltd, as well as Senior Partner and Founder of management consulting firm Tuning Fork Limited. Additionally, he is a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee member at Browns Pharma Holdings plc.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) in 1986 and also obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Brunel University in 2000.
Launched in 2021, Dino Fino Finance is primarily tasked with operating as a holding and finance company for Dino Fino Group, which offers an extensive range of furniture and furnishings. Dino Fino has been involved in the furniture retail industry for more than 20 years, and has become a well-known brand in Malta.
