Focal Maritime Services and Delta Container Services have announced the appointment of three new Directors to its board – Judith Cilia, Jonathan Xerri and Matthew Xerri, effective from 1st June 2021.

The three new directors join Founder and Managing Director, Godwin Xerri on the board, who together with the management teams of both companies will seek to expand the businesses into other activities, providing a fully integrated service to their clients.

Judith Cilia, a certified public accountant, worked for one of the big audit firms before setting up her own practice in 2004, offering accounting, consultancy, taxation and auditing services. In 2005, she was appointed company secretary of the Focal Maritime group, later joining its management team in 2017.

A professional in business administration, Jonathan Xerri began his career with Focal Maritime Services as a documentation clerk and gradually worked his way up through various departments of the company, including operations, administration and project management, before forming part of the management team and sitting on the executive management board since 2017.

Matthew Xerri, a lawyer specialised in maritime and aviation law, has been practicing his profession since 2010, with particular focus on ship and aviation finance, including the implementation of alternative financing methods.
