Just yesterday, leading local recruitment platform Keepmeposted celebrated ten years of operations.
Since its foundation, the website has posted over 60,000 vacancies from over 4,000 clients to a user-base of 77,000 jobseekers. Speaking to MaltaCEOs, Keepmeposted’s Managing Director Jean Schaak reveals what it takes to successfully run a recruitment agency in the 21st century.
“Since Keepmeposted’s foundation, we’ve witnessed the landscape shift to digital and online recruitment, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg,” Mr Schaak said.
Noting other significant changes, Mr Schaak mentioned “the speed of recruiting a candidate and the different aspirations and goals of new generations entering the workforce” – things that have been further accentuated with the recent boom in the tech and finance spheres.
Despite the ever-changing landscape, Mr Schaak is confident that “Keepmeposted managed to get into the industry ahead of the curve and even accelerated the shift to online recruitment in Malta.”
With new tech posing a threat to most companies’ human aspect, Mr Schaak is proud that “Keepmeposted didn’t go fully automated and still maintains a direct relationship with clients.”
Of course, the past decade has brought its fair share of challenges for Mr Schaak and his team of employees.
“Considering the different goals and ambitions of new generations coming into the workforce, we had to keep innovating to keep understanding and adapting to their needs,” he said.
Apart from that, the COVID-19 pandemic saw a substantial number of workers leave the island, which led to a “shortage of resources within certain sectors and skillsets.”
“We now plan to continue providing the best service we can in assisting companies finding the talent they need to run their business,” Mr Schaak said, looking to the future. “We want to increase business exposure with the importance of employer branding and ESG, all whilst introducing new tools for both employers and job-seekers to keep simplifying the recruitment process,” he concluded.
