KONNEKT CEO Josef Said has praised a Ukrainian employee for deciding to stay in his country to help defend it against the Russian invasion.
Mr Said wrote that Mykola Kuzyk, a Software Engineer “with a strong sense of what is right and wrong” had been based in Malta for a number of years, but had recently moved back to his homeland.
“He has decided to stay on and help – one of the many everyday heroes on the ground in Ukraine,” Mr Said wrote.
Writing on Facebook, Mr Kuzyk described how he and his friends had undertaken the initiative to provide humanitarian aid to those who have been forced out of their homes.
“Based in Lviv, we stay here on the ground, collect donations, and use them to buy food and other vital resources for the displaced. You can see our reports and activity in stories of my Instagram profile,” he said.
Mr Kuzyk also gave details on how people could donate money to help his country’s people.
“Stand with Ukraine. We need you more than ever,” he concluded.
Mr Kuzyk is just one of many Ukrainians who have either declined to flee their country, or returned home after years away to help with either the humanitarian or war effort.
