Owen Micallef, Sales Operations Manager at Lidl Malta, celebrated the opening of the supermarket’s ninth Maltese outlet in Triq Amery, Sliema.

The company currently employs over 400 workers across its Maltese stores, warehouse, and national headquarters, 30 of which joined the supermarket thanks to its latest opening.

“After all the hard work, today we inaugurated a new store in Sliema. I couldn’t be prouder of my team for its achievements,” Mr Micallef wrote.

“I would like to thank all the people working at Lidl Malta in our stores, as they contribute to our success on a daily basis. Thank you, guys. It was a build up to this day, and after all the hard work it is an honour to see it materialise. You merit all the praise,” he continued.

Mr Micallef joined Lidl Malta as District Manager back in April 2016. He held said role for just over four years before being appointed Sales Operations Manager.

Prior to joining the company, her served as Sales and Marketing Manager at Classic Group Ltd, Brand Manager at Maltco Lotteries Ltd, and Marketing Executive at Synergene Biotechnology.

Lidl has been present in Malta for around 14 years, having opened its first store on 24th April 2008 in Santa Venera.
