Genieve Grech on Tuesday highlighted the importance of employers taking care of their employees’ mental health and ensuring that they are valued.

“People work where they are valued,” she said.

“Not giving your employees a raise is not cost-cutting. Cost-cutting is giving them a raise to avoid hiring and training fees to replace them,” Ms Grech added.

Whether through company events, training sessions, or simply acknowledging their progress, long-term success is brought about when employees feel respected, seen, and valued, during both good and bad times.

She explained that micromanaging one’s employees does not boost productivity, but giving them “the right tools to work and trusting them” does. Additionally, making them feel valued will also make them care more about the business and hence increase the company’s revenue.

“Making your employees fear you is not how you keep order. People shouldn’t be in environments which are detrimental to them,” she said. Speaking from her own past experience, she added that fear and stress lower the immune system and might even make employees physically sick.

Ms Grech also pointed out that a company’s clients will “feel the vibe” within the team, as “all human beings radiate energy”.

Ms Grech is currently Gaming Account Manager at Trust Payments, having previously served at a number of other iGaming companies, including STS Gaming Group, Cashmio Online Casino and Tumas Gaming. She describes herself as having a “good eye for detail” and as a “problem solver”, and is particularly skilled in customer satisfaction.
