Malcolm Briffa on Thursday announced that he has been appointed Chief Officer of Business and Internet of Things (IoT) at Melita Ltd.
Mr Briffa has worked at the telecommunications company for the past 15 years, having most recently served as Director of Business Services, a position he held for more than seven years. In the role, he was tasked with leading the Melita Business team and being responsible for its product development, marketing, and distribution. He also led the development and launch of the international melita.io IoT brand, product and packing, digital self-care portal, customer experience flow, and help centre.
Mr Briffa’s time at Melita also includes experiences in senior positions in marketing, public relations and customer experience, among other areas.
Prior to his time at the company, he was Head of Marketing at GlobalCapital (now LifeStar Insurance) for over four years. He was also had stints at Media.Link and Orange Peel Productions.
He describes himself as an individual who loves “all things digital, gadgets and communication”, with an ability to “see a story and opportunity where most people see unrelated numbers and reports”.
Mr Briffa recently graduated with a Master of Business Administration from University of Warwick, where he classified among the top 10 per cent of his cohort, graduating with a distinction.
Aside from that qualification, he also holds a Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communications and a Bachelor of Communications (Hons) in Communications & Informatics, both from University of Malta, as well as a Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute.
