G3 Group has appointed Maria-Alessia Abela Micallef as Group Human Resources (HR) Manager, the company’s financing arm G3 Finance plc announced on Friday.
Her appointment comes after Bruno Cassar retired from the role last July, having held the position for over a year.
Ms Abela Micallef is a seasoned HR professional with 13 years of experience in the area, having what G3 Finance described as a “holistic spectrum of the HR field”. This includes learning and development, talent management, employee engagement and retention, as well as payroll management. She has worked in the aviation, manufacturing, and catering sectors.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Communications with Philosophy in 2008 and commenced her HR career in 2010 in aviation with SR Technics Group. Ms Abela Micallef obtained a Master of Science with HR Management from University of Chester in 2018 and in 2021 she obtained a Master of Business Administration from the same university.
Prior to her latest role, she was Senior Executive of HR at CaterEssence.
She has joined G3 Group to provide “professional HR support in line with the group’s exigencies”.
G3 Group is a hospitality management group that runs Mellieħa’s Pergola Hotel & Spa and Solana Hotel & Spa, together with bars, restaurants and wellness centres in the northern part of Malta. Its hospitality arm, G3 Hospitality, has been in the industry since 1982, and is now comprised of a new generation of Directors at the helm.
