Seasoned human resources (HR) professional Matthew Psaila on Sunday shared that he has been named Area Director of HR at Corinthia Hotels Limited.
In his new role, he will be leading the company’s HR and learning and development cluster supporting the hotels managed by the Corinthia brand in St Julian’s and Gżira.
Prior to his new position, he served as Senior Manager of Human Resources at Baxter International Inc., a journey which stretched from 2018 up until last week. He had described his decision to depart the healthcare company as one that left him “emotional but grateful”, with his time there having been filled with “mostly highs”.
Mr Psaila also had experiences in both HR and operations departments at Finest Human Capital, Famalco Group, VistaJet International, and De La Rue.
He is currently studying for a Master of Arts in Creativity and Innovation from University of Malta, and is qualified in Human Resources Management from Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, among other certifications. Mr Psaila describes himself as a “goal-oriented, agile HR professional” with a “proven track record” and the “ability to coach others”.
Corinthia Hotels Limited is the company that manages the Corinthia brand, a collection of five-star hotels located across Europe and North Africa. First launched as a family business in 1962 through its inaugural property Corinthia Palace in Attard, the company has since grown to have various hotels in “some of the most intriguing areas of the world”.
