Richard Cachia Caruana has been appointed Director at International Hotel Investments plc, succeeding David Curmi.

The appointment was effected during the company 22nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), held earlier today.

International Hotel Investments’ Board of Directors is now composed of the following: Alfred Pisani, Moussa Atiq Ali, Abdulnaser Ahmida, Hamad Buamim, Joe Pisani, Joseph Fenech, Frank Xerri de Caro, Douraid Zaghouani, and Richard Cachia Caruana.

Mr Cachia Caruana presently serves as a Senior Consultant at EMD (Malta), wherein he provides advisory services related to financial services and the European Union.

Between 2004 and 2013, he served as an Advisor to the then Prime Minister of Malta, Lawrence Gonzi. During said period, Mr Cachia Caruana also held the position of Permanent Representative of Malta to the European Union.

His earlier experiences include Head of the Prime Minsiter’s Secretariat and Chief Negotiator for Malta’s Accession Negotiations to the European Union, within the Officer of the Prime Minister, and Senior Consultant at KPMG Malta.

International Hotel Investments is an investor, developer, and operator of Corinthia Hotels and other real estate. It is also a part of the Corinthia Group.
