Youth Coach and Executive Director at Ronald McDonald House Charities Tonio Axisa is taking part in The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, a global motorcycle event raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health programs on behalf of the Movember Foundation.
In what will be his fourth time taking part in the fundraising initiative, Mr Axisa is working towards raising a €1,000 target for the cause.
“My personal journey working with vulnerable groups, including the support to NGOs who put mental health at their priority continues to instil in me the importance of being an ambassador to support DGR,” he writes on his fundraising page, affirming that in his fourth year, he has “never seen such support from anonymous people donating to this good cause.”
The event, which is centred around classic and vintage styled motorcycles and comes with a suggested dress code of dapper clothing and courteous behaviour, will take place on Sunday 23rd May 2021.
In a post encouraging people to donate, Mr Axisa affirms, “Men die on average six years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I’m asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.”
