Rutvik Deepak has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at on-demand home services company Gigify.

Mr Deepak made the announcement of his new role through social media on Thursday, saying: “Thrilled to be joining an awe-inspiring team!”

“Looking forward to adding value to the gig economy in Malta and beyond in my new role as Chief Executive Officer at Gigify,” he added.

Apart from this, Mr Deepak is experienced both in the local and international start-up ecosystems, being the Founder of doughfold, as well as a Consultant at GO Ventures and a Practice Lead in Strategy and Start-up Ecosystems at tenten100.

In a career that has seen him work in several countries, including in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic, he has amassed a diverse range of experience in different roles, ranging from Business Development Manager at BMIT Technologies to ZettaBox Product Manager at Interoute.

Throughout his career, he has focused on “Enabling start-up ecosystems by leading, managing and advising teams on strategy, investments, innovation and new venture development.”

Mr Deepak is particularly interested in identifying and leveraging firms’ tacit knowledge, using this to create winning strategies for clients.

Additionally, he is vastly experienced within technology, media and telecommunications, after working with the management of several market leaders to add value at operational, functional and strategic layers.

He is a Master of Business Administration graduate at Cass Business School, as well as a Bachelor of Science graduate in Business Administration and Economics at Pennsylvania State University.

Gigify is an app that seeks to connect customers to freelance experts in several tasks such as cleaning and handyman work.

The gig economy has taken off, with people worldwide transitioning to gig work, allowing them to act as their own boss, and take freelance jobs directly from the market.

The gig economy also creates flexibility for consumers, with common applications being home services such as cleaning and repairs, but it is also being widely used for behind-the-desk office work done by digital nomads.
