Joseph Aquilina

Joseph Aquilina, Co-Founder and CEO at Smart Technologies Limited, took to social media to share a sneak peek into his training regime for the intense LifeCycle 2022 Challenge.

This endeavour will see participants cycle a whopping 2,000km in South America over a period of 10 days. Mr Aquilina and the rest of the participants will depart from the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires and make their way to Santiago in Chile.

Founded in Malta in 1999, the LifeCycle Foundation has three main aims: to raise awareness about renal disease, to raise funds in aid of patients living with said disease, and to increase research into the causes and possible cures of renal failure.

“Being the only NGO in Malta dedicated to the mission, your help will be very much appreciated,” Mr Aquilina wrote.

“The renal patients can’t give up, and neither can we,” he concluded.

The LifeCycle Foundation organises one of the most gruelling endurance events in Europe, pitting a dedicated team of international cyclists against the elements in a long-distance ride through different countries all over the world.

Year after year, this annual event covers an average of 2,000km in 10 days.
