Stephen Coppini on Tuesday announced that he has been named Cluster Director of Sales at InterContinental Malta.

Mr Coppini, who is a hospitality industry veteran, most recently served as Cluster Director of Leisure Sales at the hotel’s parent company, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), for more than three years.

His new position is not the first time that he has worked at the St Julian’s hotel, having previously spent over nine years serving in various sales-related roles between 2010 and 2019. These include Senior Sales Manager, Director of Leisure Sales, and Key Account Director.

In addition to this, he was also Sales & Marketing Manager at Golden Tulip Vivaldi Hotel for 11 years, and Front Office Manager at Corinthia Palace Hotel for six years.

Qualified in hotel management through the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), Mr Coppini describes himself as being particularly skilled in revenue analysis and yield management, among other things.

InterContinental Malta, which hosts 481 bedrooms, six restaurants and six bars, opened its doors in 2003. It forms part of IHG, a UK-based multinational hospitality company that operates more than 6,000 hotels under a number of brands in over 100 countries.
