Entain Corporate Director and Finance Manager Raisa Schembri on Wednesday shared that she is celebrating her five-year work anniversary at the sports betting and gaming entertainment company.

She remarked that while work fills a “large part” of our lives, the past five years at Entain have been a “challenging journey of growth and resilience” for her.

“I am glad to have crossed paths with a lot of talented people who helped me along the way,” Ms Schembri continued. She concluded by saying: “To pushing through and achieving dreams.”

She first joined the firm as Financial Controller in 2018, before she was promoted to her present role at the start of 2021. She is now tasked with managing and maintaining the financial health of a portfolio of entities within regulated online markets, and ensuring compliance with the group’s policies and local requirements, among other responsibilities.

Prior to that, Ms Schembri gained a wide range of experience as an Accountant at various legal, tax, and accountancy firms. This includes more than a year at Fortia International Services Limited, just under two years at Corrieri Cilia Legal, two years at Chetcuti Cauchi Advocates, as well as four years at KSi Malta. During that time, she dealt with a wide spectrum of clients on a daily basis, and she states that “communication is the key when working with other people”.

She holds a Master of Science in Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (Business and Finance) from University of Malta and is also qualified in Marketing and Economics from St Martin’s Business School.

Entain describes itself as “one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming groups” and operates within the online and retail sector. The group rebranded from GVC Holdings in 2020 to reflect its ambition to be the “world-leader in sports betting and gaming entertainment”. Some of the group’s brands include Ladbrokes, Coral, BetMGM, bwin, Sportingbet, and Eurobet. While it is a tax resident in the United Kingdom, it has 20 offices across five continents, including in Gżira, Malta.
